A unique opening for a Building Services Engineer to join the University of Surrey’s Estates & Facilities Management Team.
We are seeking an experienced Building Services professional with substantial knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems, to provide expert advice and guidance regarding the maintenance strategy, root failure analysis & solutions and project leadership & support.
Role & Responsibilities
This role will cover all of the University’s mechanically derived infrastructure and ensure a professional, integrated and innovative approach to maintenance delivery. You’ll form part of an “intelligent client” function, providing professional advice as a key member of the engineering leadership team, setting policy for our core staff, organisation, contractors/consultants and supporting project managers to ensure quality technical information is conveyed to support the success of any project or work stream.
Working in conjunction with the Head of Maintenance and engineering managers, you’ll be responsible for developing and implementing the organisational maintenance strategy and standards for the management of the mechanical asset infrastructure in order to meet the University’s broader strategic plans and objectives. You will have direct & indirect line management responsibilities for the mechanical team and will advise, guide and work closely with the operational teams in the delivery of maintenance and project management organisation in support of all construction activities.
