We are seeking an exceptional individual to join our Student and Academic Services Directorate as the Head of Timetabling and Exam Scheduling. This is a new and critical role at the heart of the university’s operational and strategic delivery, ensuring that our timetabling and examination processes meet the needs of our student and staff community.

As the Head of Timetabling and Exam Scheduling, you will lead the development, implementation, and management of efficient timetabling and exam schedules across all campuses. Working collaboratively with faculties, professional services, and key stakeholders, you will ensure that timetables reflect the university’s strategic goals while optimising resources and supporting student success and experience.

The postholder will be responsible for leading on and ensuring the optimisation of space utilisation and assessing the impact of student growth and changes to the estate when planning and preparing both the teaching and examination timetables.

The successful applicant will have significant experience of timetabling delivery on large scale, including extensive practical experience of working with timetabling applications. They will also have significant experience in leading and fulfilling multi-stakeholder university-wide projects successfully an undertaking successful change management projects.

They will also be experienced at strategic thinking, with the ability to develop and implement ambitious change on a large scale. 

You will have excellent leadership and people management skills, with the ability to develop and motivate teams of staff, combined with excellent organisational skills, including the ability to prioritise work, think clearly and work calmly to meet service standards under pressure.
