The opportunity
The Screen School at London College of Communication (LCC) is looking for an experienced film practitioner to join us as a Course Leader on our MA Film course.

MA Film is a distinct course within the Film and Television programme portfolio, which includes MA Screenwriting, MA Documentary Film and MA Television, and three undergraduate courses. Our MA Film course is a highly vocational and hands-on course that that focuses on the creative, technical and practical aspects of film production.

As Course Leader, you will be responsible for leading the course into a new UAL postgraduate framework during reapproval, as well as overseeing the ongoing development of the course, teaching, assessment, quality, student recruitment and line management of staff.

You will also deliver teaching on the course and will work closely with your colleagues to contribute to initiatives within the School, College, and University, including research activities.

About you

You are a skilled film practitioner with the relevant academic experience to lead and deliver a practical, postgraduate filmmaking course. Your film practitioner knowledge and experience should be in fiction, preferably with some experience in short-form drama, with skills in story development, as well as filming and postproduction experience, preferably with both studio and location-based productions.

You will have experience in teaching and mentoring students to learn the filmmaking process, from concept through to completion. You will be capable of encouraging innovative approaches to narrative storytelling for drama productions, offering positive critiques throughout the process.

As an academic practitioner, you will demonstrate knowledge and experience of developing a postgraduate curriculum that combines industry-standard practices with a focus on creativity and teamwork.
