This role will contribute to the successful running of the growing portfolio of trials managed by the Experimental Medicine and Rheumatology (EMR) trials group within Oxford Clinical Trials Research Unit (OCTRU), based in the Botnar Research Centre, Headington, Oxford.
 
The postholder will take responsibility for the coordination of areas of trial management such as site set up, site management, data collection and site closure activities and will be the key point of contact for participating sites for these activities. You will also provide support by undertaking tasks such as central monitoring; drafting and submitting amendments; databases testing and management of user accounts. You will be expected to provide cover for periods of absence of Trial Manager(s). You may line manage and/or provide training for junior trial staff.
 
You will have a degree in a biomedical or associated subject, or other relevant qualification, or proven experience in clinical research. You will have knowledge of UK clinical research structures, regulatory and ethical systems, and experience of working to a high standard of Good Clinical Practice. Effective organisational skills including the ability to prioritise workload, be adaptable to changing priorities, a critical and intelligent attention to detail and high standards of accuracy is also essential. Experience of data management relating to research participants is desirable.
 
This post is offered full-time (part time 0.7 FTE over min 4 days would be considered).
 
It is a fixed term appointment for 12 months.
 
This post will require a settling in period during which you will be expected to work in the office full time. After this period, a pattern of hybrid working may be possible with the agreement of your line manager with a maximum of 40% home working. Requests for additional home working can be considered in certain circumstances.
