Procurement Manager - Estates

The Universities Estates department are recruiting experienced Procurement manager. You will already have been heavily involved in estates and projects connecting and developing innovative and collaborative spaces.

Our work stretches from planning and constructing huge research facilities like the National Automotive Innovation Centre, to making sure the lights are working, and the toilets are clean wherever you study, work or visit.

The role of procurement Manager will be:

• Ensure the development and delivery of effective category and supplier management within the Estates Procurement Team.
• Reporting into the Senior Estates Procurement Manager (Works and Consultancy) you will be working within a complex organisational environment, able to build effective relationships with colleagues and suppliers.
• Have experience managing a defined portfolio of spend, develop and undertake category strategies to deliver best value and continuous improvement solutions.
• You will understand market dynamics and cost drivers and have experience of undertaking a range of sourcing activities including RFQs, formal tenders
• You will be an excellent negotiator with strong contract management experience.
• Your planning and organisational skills will be outstanding
• You will have a strong ability to collaborate and build strong relationships with stakeholders
• It is essential you have a proven track record of contributing to the delivery of an efficient, responsive and value generating Procurement service.
• You will be able to work effectively within a framework of robust procurement, regulatory and audit procedures.
• You will have experience in staff management and development in order to Support the development of more junior team members and where applicable, manage one or more junior members of staff.
• A proven history of working within a similar role is essential.
