RT 4a+: £31, 387 to £46,735 per annum (pro-rata if applicable) depending on skills and experience (minimum £35,116 with relevant PhD). Salary progression beyond this scale is subject to performance.

Applications are invited for the position of Senior Research Fellow/Research Fellow to contribute to an NIHR Programme grant study at the University of Nottingham. The successful candidate will work on a large programme of research (ROWTATE) which will develop a programme to help injured people make a successful return to work, evaluate this in a randomised controlled trial and disseminate the findings widely.

This role will involve undertaking study tasks for work package 4 (implementation) of the ROWTATE programme and producing a range of outputs from across the research programme. The main duties of the role are to develop implementation resources based on the findings from the research programme and from the extant literature and produce a range of outputs from the research programme. The implementation resources to be developed include an implementation toolkit and implementation workshops for commissioners and healthcare practitioners. The study tasks will include, but are not limited to, reviewing literature, carrying out and, where appropriate, designing research using recognised implementation science approaches, theories, methodologies and techniques within the research area and qualitative and quantitative analysis. 

For the Senior Research Fellow post applicants should have substantial experience of qualitative and basic quantitative research methods and theories as well as substantial expertise in analysing qualitative data and literature reviewing. For the Senior Research Fellow post applicants must also have substantial experience of writing for publication. Applicants must have a PhD in a relevant subject area (social sciences, applied health research, public health) or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in the research area.

For the Research Fellow post applicants must have some experience of qualitative and basic quantitative research methods and theories as well as expertise in analysing qualitative data, literature reviewing and some experience of writing for publication. Applicants must have a PhD (or be near completion) in a relevant subject area (social sciences, applied health research, public health), or the equivalent in professional qualifications and experience in the research area.

The post is offered on a fixed term contract until 31 December 2025. Hours of work are part time, 25 hours per week.
