About us:

This post will be situated at KCL, in the Health Services and Population Health Department working with and across The International Research Programme on Psychoses in Diverse Settings (INTREPID) project funded by the MRC, and the ESRC Centre for Society and Mental Health which has recently been funded for a further 3 years.    

About the role:

The Health Service & Population Research Department and ESRC Centre for Society and Mental Health (CSMH) are seeking to appoint a part-time Research Administrator to support an international research project and day to day administration of CSMH. 

The International Research Programme on Psychoses in Diverse Settings (INTREPID) project is a 5-year international research programme funded by the MRC. The goal of the programme is to transform our knowledge of and responses to psychotic disorders globally. The ESRC Centre for Society and Mental Health is a research centre dedicated to delivering innovative and impactful research on social change and mental health. 

The postholder will work closely with the INTREPID Project Coordinator and Project Lead and with the CSMH centre manager and co-directors, providing high quality administrative support, ensuring the smooth running of all day-to-day activities.

The role is suitable for someone who can effectively manage competing priorities, has good attention to detail and is able to build and maintain effective working relationships with internal and external colleagues.

This is a part time post (0.6 FTE), and you will be offered a fixed term contract until 12 months from date of appointment.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  1. Strong knowledge and skills of research support acquired through previous roles.
  2. Proficient levels of numeracy and experience of budget management and tracking using financial software.
  3. Relevant working experience of using Excel, Word and other Microsoft applications (e.g., SharePoint).
  4. Effective communication and interpersonal skills in order to receive, understand and relay day-to-day operational ideas or information to various groups.
  5. Effective at working independently and as part of a team to contribute to broader team’s goals and objectives.
  6. Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with ability to organise workload and manage competing priorities.
  7. Excellent accuracy and attention to detail, with ability to follow and adapt to new procedures and processes.

Desirable criteria

  1. Experience of working within Higher Education or research sector.
  2. Experience of working with global collaborators and partners
