The Department of Materials at the University of Manchester seeks an enthusiastic, high-quality, and experienced candidate for a teaching-focused Senior Lectureship position in Materials Science & Engineering. The successful candidate is expected to significantly contribute to the teaching and learning endeavours in the discipline of Materials Science and Engineering including all aspects of the development, delivery and leadership of teaching & learning at both the undergraduate and postgraduate taught levels. The role aims to strengthen the teaching and learning capabilities of the department covering all core areas of the course curriculum. As such, the postholder will be actively engaged in ongoing teaching and learning activities and in leading the development of teaching methods and materials in the department, with the aim of improving the education, experience and employability of students. Teaching and administrative duties within the Department of Materials will be assigned by the Head of Department in discussion with the Line Manager.

As well as completing the online application form, as part of the application process, the candidates for this position are expected to submit a teaching plan (two pages) indicating their teaching philosophy, innovative teaching methods to be implemented, and how their teaching experience fits within the scope of the department.
