Postdoc Position in Molecular Biology

We are looking for a highly motivated Postdoc to join the Cvejic Lab with the commence date of June 1st, 2025 or soon thereafter.

Our research

We are a team of highly skilled researchers collaborating with international partners from industry and other universities to perform exciting interdisciplinary science using cutting-edge experimental and computational technologies. Our aim is to dissect dynamics and cellular programmes active during human blood lineage development and to decipher how haematopoietic differentiation pathways are influenced by different microenvironments. We use state-of-the-art single-cell data generation combined with computational analysis to establish principles of blood lineage differentiation. 

Your job

You will have a strong scientific background in cell biology and epigenetics, and you will be able to demonstrate critical thinking within and beyond these areas. You will be hard working, passionate about science, and keen to learn and improve skills within a supportive research environment.

You will be part of a multidisciplinary team and will be tasked with proactively seeking and maintaining appropriate collaborations. You will be expected to contribute to and support the ongoing research projects in the group on an ad-hoc basis when needed, working closely with biologists, clinicians and bioinformaticians within and outside the group to accomplish scientific objectives; disseminate your expertise to new lab members, participate in grant writing and be actively involved in scientific discussions within the lab. 

Profile

We are looking for a highly motivated and enthusiastic postdoc with the following competencies and experience:

Essential experience and skills 

  • Extensive experience in flow cytometry
  • Extensive experience in cell culture and molecular biology techniques and
  • Extensive experience in cell biology and epigenetics
  • Highly organised
  • Excellent ability to effectively prioritise and multi-task
  • Experience with and motivation for establishing new methods
  • A PhD in life sciences or related
  • An excellent research and publication track record
  • Excellent English skills, written and spoken 

Desirable experience and skills 

  • Experience in working with primary cells and patient-derived material
  • Experience in single cell genomics techniques (RNA-Seq, Multiomics)
  • Experience in tissue dissection and histology
  • Experience with super resolution microscopy 

Place of employment

The place of employment is at the Biotech Research & Innovation Centre (BRIC), University of Copenhagen. We offer creative and stimulating working conditions in a dynamic and international research environment. Terms of employment

The average weekly working hours are 37 hours per week.

The position is a fixed-term position limited to a period of 3 years. The starting date is the 1st of June 2025 or soon thereafter.

Salary, pension and other conditions of employment are set in accordance with the Agreement between the Ministry of Taxation and AC (Danish Confederation of Professional Associations) or other relevant organisation. Currently, the monthly salary starts at 38,700 DKK/approx. 5,100 EUR (April 2025 level). Depending on qualifications, a supplement may be negotiated. The employer will pay an additional 17.1% to your pension fund
