Background
We are recruiting a new Lecturer in Transport Planning. The post is intended to strengthen the research and teaching capacity of the Department of Planning, Property & Environmental Management (PPEM), within the School of Environment, Education and Development (SEED), and we would expect the successful post-holder to have research and teaching interests (UK and International) in the fields of transport and urban planning.
The post-holder will contribute to teaching on the MSc Transport and Urban Planning and across the PPEM programme portfolio. The ideal candidate will have expertise in transport planning, including but not limited to transport modelling, transport economics and appraisal and transport policy. The post-holder will have experience in teaching/using industry standard transport modelling and simulation software as well as knowledge of Geographical Information Systems (GIS) and relevant quantitative analytics skills. The successful candidate will have expertise that can complement our current portfolio of research on future urban transport and mobility.
We expect the post-holder to be committed to high quality research leading to publications and to deliver research-led teaching. The appointee will be expected to teach at all levels, from undergraduates to supervising PhDs and will also be expected to undertake a range of administrative and pastoral duties.
