Applications are invited for the post of Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in teaching and research in the Division of Neuroscience. Candidates should have a track record relevant to the level of post applied for. Candidates will have interests and experience in discovery research on normal brain function, neurological disorders, neurodegenerative disease and/or mental health. Successful candidates will join a division with strengths in Sensory & Motor Systems, Circadian biology, Brain Disorders and Neuroinflammation. This post is related but in addition to the Lecturer in Neuroscience post also advertised at this time. The division has numerous established clinical collaborations and a close relationship with the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre (GJBRC) facilitating translational research opportunities in stroke, brain tumours, Parkinson’s, vascular dementia, and epilepsy, making for a dynamic and translational research environment. The Division also uses a variety of model systems and has access to state-of-the-art core facilities. The successful candidate will also have access to human tissue via the Manchester Brain Bank and through collaborations with the GJBRC.
The purpose of this post is to undertake high quality research and excellent teaching. The successful applicant will have a track record of publishing high quality outputs. The ability to enhance teaching activities within our UG/PG programmes will also be expected.
