Lecturer in Neuroscience (Teaching and Research)

Applications are invited for a Lecturer post in teaching and research in the Division of Neuroscience. Candidates should have interests and appropriate experience in an area of neuroscience related to discovery research on normal brain function, neurological disorders, neurodegenerative disease and/or mental health.

The successful candidate will join a division with strengths in Sensory & Motor Systems, Circadian biology, Brain Disorders and Neuroinflammation. We are also advertising a related post at Lecturer/Senior Lecturer level in Neuroscience.

The Division has numerous established clinical collaborations and a close relationship with the Geoffrey Jefferson Brain Research Centre (GJBRC) facilitating translational research opportunities in stroke, brain tumours, Parkinson’s, vascular dementia, and epilepsy, making for a dynamic and translational research environment.

The Division also uses a variety of model systems and has access to state-of-the-art core facilities. The successful candidate will also have access to human tissue via the Manchester Brain Bank and through collaborations with the GJBRC.

The purpose of this post is to undertake high quality research and excellent teaching. The successful applicant will have a track record of publishing high quality outputs. The ability to enhance teaching activities within our UG/PG programmes will also be expected.
