We are excited to be recruiting new faculty to the following areas of real estate:

  • Lecturer in Real Estate with an expertise in one or more of real estate economics, valuation, finance, real estate law, and investment

This appointment forms part of an ambitious plan for further developing the research and teaching capacity in the Department of Planning, Property and Environmental Management in the School of Environment, Education and Development. The post is intended to strengthen the research and teaching capacity of the School in Real Estate.

We are currently expanding our research and teaching activities in real estate and we would expect the successful post holder to particularly take a lead in one or more of the areas such as, real estate economics, valuation, finance, real estate law, and investment. The position focuses on producing academic research judged to be at an international level, including outputs of a quality equivalent to 3/4* in REF terms and publishable in high impact, well-recognised Real Estate journals (for example, Real Estate Economics, Journal of Real Estate Finance and Economics, Journal of Real Estate Research), related journals (for example, Journal of Urban Economics, Journal of Regional Science), and/or in other relevant international journals. Candidates who can demonstrate strength in application of data science tools in real estate research are encouraged to apply.

We particularly welcome applications from individuals committed to high quality research leading to publications and with experience in research-led teaching. The appointee will be expected to teach at all levels, from undergraduates to supervising PhDs. S/he will also be expected to undertake a range of administrative and pastoral duties.
