Line Management responsibility for: Registry Services staff

The Registrar will work closely with the Academic Services team in all aspects of administration that support teaching and learning activities in line with the academic calendar. You will be accountable for the integration of end-to-end administrative functions and processes, from enrolment to graduation with all functions directly impacting the student experience which is reflected in internal and external benchmarks. You will be expected to collaborate and interact with designated professional service staff from across the College to provide an efficient and responsive service. Excellent liaison and organisational skills are a priority to assist with processes across professional services to provide a seamless service delivery to the Colleges staff and students. The successful candidate will have experience in a leadership role in a complex, cross-organisational administrative function.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Act as the senior responsible officer for the integrity and quality of student data.
  • To provide authoritative expert advice and guidance at the highest level on the effective management of Registry & Student Administration matters.
  • Develop proactive relationships with relevant regulators and professional bodies
  • To support the achievement of the College’s strategies and delivery of institutional KPIs.
  • Lead on user-related aspects of student systems and processes, ensuring integrity of data and information, to support College performance and conformity with all compliance matters.
  • To undertake College level committee work and other responsibilities, as directed from time to time by the Dean and the Principal.
  • Strategic leadership and management of the development and implementation of service delivery across Registry & Student Administration
  • Lead and manage all people and activities within the directorate of Registry & Student Administration
  • Keep abreast with HE sector best practice including relevant legislation

Requirements

Education

  • Educated to Degree level, or equivalent relevant experience in a similar or related role(s), demonstrating development through a series of progressively more demanding work/roles. (Essential)
  • Strong operational knowledge of some areas relating to this role. (Essential)
  • Relevant professional qualification and/or membership of relevant professional bodies. (Desirable)
  • A robust understanding of the QAA Quality Code, Ofs Conditions and general HE regulations. (Essential)

Experience

  • Organising and coordinating workloads and time management. (Essential)
  • Maintaining professional relationships and handling sensitive and confidential situations. (Essential)
  • Servicing committees, taking accurate minutes, and monitoring actions. (Essential)
  • Pro-actively leading on continuous improvement activities and innovations. (Essential)

Knowledge

  • Knowledge and understanding of the work practices, processes and procedures relevant to the role with an awareness of current affairs in the higher education sector (Essential)
  • Student records management and data systems (Essential)
  • High level of expertise in using Microsoft Office applications (Essential)

Skills & Abilities

  • Capacity to navigate difficult situations and conflicting views with tact and diplomacy, while having patience to complete tasks thoroughly and achieve necessary outcomes. (Essential)
