This part-time (0.8 FTE) role is available on a fixed-term basis from the 1st of May 2025 until the 31st of December 2025. This role involves working 29.2 hours per week over 4 days.
Standard working days for this post will be Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday but the post holder will also be expected to work some Saturdays. The Student Information Desk is open Saturdays in term time only with these days worked on a rota basis divided across the team. Staff who work a Saturday will be given an alternative day off in the preceding week.
This role offers the opportunity for hybrid working – some time on campus and some from home on a rota basis. However, as an essential frontline service, the Student Information Desk prioritises on campus working and you will be asked initially to work fully on campus for the first 2 – 3 months depending on progress to ensure in person training and support handling a broad range of enquiries. Trained SID advisors then work in a hybrid fashion on a rota basis: (example: 3 days on campus, 1 at home subject to service needs).
Interviews for this post are expected to take place in person at the Streatham campus in Exeter on Tuesday 15th April 2025.
Summary of the role
The post offers an exciting opportunity for highly-motivated individuals with a keen interest in providing excellent customer service to students in all matters relating to non-academic support at all levels. We are looking for individuals who can work towards continuously improving the student and academic experience across the student life cycle.
We are looking for someone with excellent customer service, IT and communication skills (in person, via telephone and via written enquiry), as well as someone who is capable of using an enquiry management system. You have will excellent attention to detail and experience of working collaboratively in a team to deliver multiple objectives and high service standards.
