The Role
Applications are invited for this Postdoctoral Research Associate post funded by the EPSRC "Nano-structured RC networks – a pathway to artificial skin" project. The primary objective is to develop a comprehensive simulation framework that bridges microscopic semiconductor morphology with macroscopic charge transport dynamics, ultimately supporting the design of innovative touch sensor technologies.
The successful candidate will focus on creating an advanced spatially-cognisant kinetic Monte Carlo simulation capable of adapting to empirical surface morphologies and potential maps. This will involve working with novel materials like transition metal dichalcogenides and conductive metal oxides.
