Do you have a strong grounding in economics or financial analysis? Do you have a demonstrable interest in health and social care policy and an understanding of how public services are funded and financed? Are you a strong critical thinker, with excellent verbal and written communication skills? 

The Nuffield Trust is looking for a creative and independent research analyst to undertake work on agreed research projects relating to the funding and financing of health and social care services. You will ensure timely and high-quality delivery working within a team of project leads. You should have a deep understanding of how UK public services are funded and financed, with a demonstrable interest in health and social care policy. 

In this role, you will be taking responsibility for small projects or parts of projects, including the research design, planning, development and delivery of research projects; working in collaboration with others within internal and external project teams. 

We’d really like to meet you if you have:

  • A first degree in economics (or a similarly quantitative subject).
  • The ability to comprehend and synthesise different official sources of information on health and social care funding and reconcile differences between them.
  • The ability to apply economic methods for analysis and evaluation and advise colleagues on appropriate use within mixed methods projects.
  • The ability to gather, analyse, interpret, and synthesise complex information derived from policy documents, health economic research and broader research studies
