The Department of Sociology is seeking an enthusiastic, efficient and highly organised individual to join our administrative team.
About the Role
As Research Grants Officer you will be a member of the departmental Research Facilitation team and work closely with the Departmental Research Facilitator and Finance Officer to support academics in all aspects of post-award administration of their research grants.
Sociology’s Research Facilitation team provides invaluable support to Principal Investigators (PIs) and other grant holders to effectively manage their research funding and liaise with external sponsors, colleagues within the department and different units of the central University Services.
Given the multiple responsibilities, you will manage your time and prioritise tasks without supervision, as well as coordinate work with others in the team.
You will be based in the Department of Sociology, 42-43 Park End Street, Oxford, OX1 1JD - a central location close to Oxford’s train station. Hybrid working is welcome: it is expected that the postholder could spend up to 40% of their time working remotely if desired. The postholder would also be able to work fully on site if preferred.
This is a permanent full-time position and will be available from May 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Application Process
The closing date for applications is 12:00 midday UK time on Friday 28 March 2025 with interviews expected to take place on Wednesday 09 April 2025.
You will be required to upload a CV, supporting statement and details of two referees as part of your online application. Your supporting statement should clearly set out the extent to which you meet each of the selection criteria of the post.
