The Department of English seeks to appoint an Alan Frederick Price Memorial Post-Doctoral Teaching Fellow in English Literature.
Named in honour of a past student who went on to become a school teacher and lecturer in English, this post is designed to provide experience in teaching and teaching-related administration in a world class university environment.
You must be a recent recipient of your doctoral award (with any required thesis corrections completed and approved) and have had some previous teaching experience at HEI level. Preference will be given to applicants for whom this will be their first substantial, full-time, post.
You will be an individual who has demonstrated or shows potential for excellence in teaching English Literature.
As this is primarily a teaching post, a current research profile is desirable, but there is no requirement to be eligible for REF. Any area of specialism will be considered, and there may be opportunities to offer teaching directly reflecting the post-holder's own areas of interest and expertise at MA as well as undergraduate level, including supervision of dissertations. However, the ability to contribute to current provision is essential.
The fellow will be encouraged and supported to develop knowledge, skills and expertise via the University's academic development programmes. The post is tenable for one year only, with the post-holder available to commence September 2025 (exact start date TBC).
The interviews for this position will be held on Thursday 12th June 2025.
