An exciting opportunity has opened up in the School of Computing for a suitably qualified Postdoctoral Researcher to work on HORIZON EUROPE XTRUST-6G project.
Global cyber-attacks are becoming more sophisticated, posing increasing threats to critical information infrastructures (CIIs) and ICT systems. These attacks are expected to have significant economic and societal impacts, making them global risks.
This project aims to develop a robust security framework for 6G ecosystems, built on zero trust principles and focusing on resilience, privacy, and dependability. A dynamic access control system, using cyber-threat intelligence and behavioural insights, will help mitigate risks. Micro-segmentation will isolate vulnerable functions to prevent attackers' lateral movement.
Proactive security measures, supported by AI, will enhance intrusion detection and reduce attack surfaces. The project will also create an intelligent detection and response solution, integrating collaborative networks and graph-based threat models for real-time threat responses. Automation, aided by blockchain, will secure application integration. Quantum-safe technologies and AI-driven solutions will protect against physical layer attacks, while privacy-preserving AI/ML schemes will ensure fairness and sustainability. These measures aim to ensure 6G networks are highly secure and resilient against evolving cyber threats.
The successful candidate will have in-depth knowledge and experience of Cyber Security, zero-trust, AI/ML, open RAN and excellent programming and Machine Learning skills. Will also be expected to contribute to research outputs and activities, including publications, seminars, conferences, and research funding bids.
The start date will be on end April 2025. The details of the position are described in the job description and person specification, which are available from the University of Portsmouth online application system at https://port.engageats.co.uk.
Applications (application form, CV, publication list and research statement) should be submitted by clicking the 'Apply' button, above, by the closing date.
