We are seeking a motivated and strategic leader to take on the role of Head of Diversity and Inclusion to shape and drive our Equality, Diversity and Inclusion (EDI) agenda across the School and its commercial entity, Oxford Saïd Business School Limited (OSBSL). 

As the Head of Diversity and Inclusion, you will provide strategic direction, develop and embed Saïd Business School’s EDI strategy, and co-ordinate all initiatives across protected characteristics and communities. You will work closely with the EDI Steering Group and key stakeholders to drive cultural transformation and ensure the School is at the forefront of best practices in EDI.

Key responsibilities:

  • Spearhead the development, implementation and review of a five-year EDI strategy, embedding it into the School’s culture and operational plans.
  • Work closely with senior faculty, managers and HR teams to enhance recruitment, development and overall staff and student experience.
  • Develop and oversee robust data systems and analytics to inform decision-making and meet accreditation standards such as Athena Swan, Stonewall and the Race Equality Charter.
  • Lead and coordinate Employee Resource Groups and other community groups to address intersectional EDI issues.
  • Ensure compliance with the Public Sector Equality Duty and other legal obligations, producing reports and policy guidance as required.

You will have significant experience in EDI, particularly within Higher Education. You must demonstrate subject matter expertise, providing strategic and technical input, alongside strong analytical skills to interpret complex data and develop impactful strategies. A thorough understanding of relevant legislation, including the Equalities Act and Public Sector Equality Duty, is required. Additionally, you should have experience in resource planning, project management and handling sensitive issues with tact, confidentiality and commitment.
