About the role
This is a fantastic opportunity to join UCL’s Information Services Division (ISD) we are recruiting a Faculty IT Support Specialist for the Engineering Science Faculty.

This post is in ISD Faculty IT & Partnering which provides local specialist desktop support from 2nd line to 3rd line, being the first point of contact for faculty staff specialist needs.
Responsibilities include asset management of client devices, software and hardware upgrades, 3rd party vendor liaison and procurement of hardware including specialist lab equipment.
The post holder will be expected to contribute to customer facing documentation and assist with the maintenance and troubleshooting of our virtual application deployment service.
The post will report to the Head of IT for Engineering, working onsite where our customers and infrastructure is based.
About you
The successful candidate will have high level of knowledge and experience in a number of core competencies, including client devices, operating systems (Windows/Apple O/S), networking protocols, standard software packages, Active Directory, printers, file storage systems.
Based on your experience and expert knowledge, the candidate will be expected to specialise in one of the following disciplines: End user and server hardware, Lab/Scientific IT, Research Applications, Network/Security, Advanced OS support, Office 365 development and Application packaging and deployment.
As well as possessing the necessary technical knowledge, you should have the ability to work under pressure, manage competing priorities and excellent customer service skills. Having excellent communication skills to relay technical information to non-technical academic staff and students. You will be building working relationships with key stakeholders in the department and be the first point of contact for IT related matters.
