Materials Scientist (Knowledge Transfer Partnership)

Applications are invited for a full-time, 2-year Materials Scientist (Knowledge Transfer Partnership) working for the BioComposites Centre at Bangor University but based at the Zentia company site in Gateshead, with joint supervision and access to staff expertise, knowledge and facilities at Bangor University.

Duties will include leading and delivering a challenging research and development project that directly impacts the business, with the opportunity to be a champion of real change. The successful candidate will fulfill project aims to transfer science and technical knowledge from the academic partners to the industrial partners.

Applicants should be educated to postgraduate standard (or equivalent) and have previous experience of material or pulp and paper science. Ability and enthusiasm for Knowledge Transfer are essential.

The successful candidate will be expected to commence during April 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter.

This role will be located at Zentia’s factory in Gateshead with some travel to Bangor as required.

The Starting salary will be £37,099 p.a. with a £4000 personal training budget and 2 residential management training courses provided.
