Annual Leave: 30 days plus standard public holidays and an additional 4 days including the closure of our office between Christmas and New Year

Location: University of Hertfordshire Campus 

The Support Team Leader will have responsibility for the delivery, implementation, operation and daily management of the EAVDM team and ‘hands-on’ practical work to contribute to the delivery of LCS Support. The post holder will be expected to ensure the effective development and day to day delivery and management of the local teams in providing frontline services. They are expected to lead the LCS EAVDM team in providing customers with the best possible service at all times within the agreed service standards.

Main duties and responsibilities

The Support Team Leader will work closely with the EAVDM Manager and Team Leaders within the department to ensure the wide range of university services, systems, solutions and support that LCS is responsible for can be delivered.

The postholder will also be responsible for the maintenance of the Audio Visual (AV) and Digital Media (DM) installations in university teaching and meeting rooms, video conference rooms, TV Studios, Weston Auditorium and Digital Signage system. This will include planning for and carrying out the routines and procedures necessary to ensure the efficient operation of AV/IT systems, theatre equipment (including IT, AV, lighting and Sound and projection), networking infrastructure associated with this and media and IT equipment across the University Estate. 

Skills and experience required

The successful candidate must have proven experience of working in a front-line service within a customer service organisation as well as experience of providing technical support for the development, operation and delivery of AV, IT and Events as well as effective performance management and a good working knowledge of relevant recognised standards.

This experience should include evidence of leading a team and examples of putting this experience into practice. The post holder will have experience in hardware and software installation / maintenance / fault diagnosis across a range of IT/AV equipment. Additionally, they should have experience of programming, operating & maintaining professional lighting and sound equipment (with relevant software) for theatres/ large venues. Proven skills and experience in the programming of control systems for audio visual equipment (eg Crestron) is essential.

Qualifications required

The post holder will be educated to degree level or equivalent, or have proven experience
