Salary:
Research Fellow: Grade 7, £52,874 to £61,921 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance;
Senior Research Fellow: Grade 8, £63,596 to £72,757 per annum, including London Weighting Allowance
About the role
We are seeking an outstanding and motivated candidate to join our research team. The successful candidate will contribute to cutting-edge research on digital health interventions, focusing on the role of health apps to improve population health outcomes and exploring how the NHS can better adopt and integrate health apps into its digital infrastructure. A key aspect of the role will be to investigate strategies for enhancing the impact of the NHS App, MyChart and their associated digital services.
The candidate will work across King’s Health Partners and King’s Population Health Institute, contributing to the future of digital healthcare in the UK.

This is a full-time post (35 hours per week), and you will be offered an fixed-term contract until 16th May 2028.
About You
To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:
Essential criteria – Grade 7, Research Fellow
- PhD (or equivalent experience) in Digital Health, Population Health, Epidemiology, Health Services Research, Medicine, Data Science, or a related field
- Strong research background in digital health, or health technology adoption
- Experience in evaluating health interventions, preferably within NHS or similar healthcare systems
- Familiarity with qualitative and/or quantitative research methods applicable to digital health studies
- Ability to engage with diverse stakeholders, including policymakers, clinicians, developers, and patients
- A track record of publications in peer-reviewed journals and experience presenting research findings
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Committed to equality, diversity and inclusion, actively addressing areas of potential bias
Desirable criteria
- Experience in human-centred design or user experience (UX) research in digital health
- Understanding of machine learning, AI, or big data analytics applied to health apps
- Experience working on NHS-funded digital health projects or collaborations
- Knowledge of regulatory and ethical considerations for digital health technologies
- Previous experience in mentoring junior researchers
