The Programmes and Projects Office, a new centralised project and portfolio department at the University of Surrey, is looking to recruit a Project Manager to primarily lead the overall management of the HESA Data Futures project as well as other projects as allocated.

This role is offered on a fixed-term basis until the end of 2025.
Role & Responsibilities
You will help to ensure that programmes and projects align with the University’s objectives and are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. The position acts as a business partner to stakeholders, facilitating a smooth and efficient project execution. You will have overall project management responsibility for the project, ensuring that internal delivery partners are working to the agreed plans and that project clients are satisfied with progress.
Working closely with Project Sponsors, Delivery Leaders and Teams, Project & Programme governance and other key stakeholders, you’ll deliver significant change and Transformation for the University.
By working closely with the University business areas and delivery teams, you’ll cover a full spectrum of Project Management services from inception to completion.
About you
We’re looking for an experienced project manager who has proven experience in a similar role. You’ll have experience of building relationships and contacts with a wide variety of academics and professionals, and will demonstrate personal credibility when dealing with senior stakeholders. You’ll be able to work autonomously where needed, applying judgement and initiative when managing your workload to meet the long-term objectives of the project.
You’ll have a relevant degree or significant vocational experience, and the ideal candidate will also have a project management qualification (e.g. PRINCE2).
