Institute of Continuing Education, University of Cambridge The University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education (ICE) is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Student Data Manager to oversee the management, integrity, and reporting of student records. This role plays a key part in ensuring compliance with University regulations and external statutory reporting requirements, supporting the academic journey of thousands of learners each year.

The Role

As Student Data Manager, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring the accuracy and integrity of student records, enabling informed decision-making and regulatory compliance. Reporting to the Director of Continuing Education Governance, your key responsibilities will include:

  • Overseeing student data management processes within CamSIS, ensuring the accuracy of student registration, enrolment, grades, and awards.
  • Producing and validating statutory data returns, such as the Higher Education Student Early Statistics Survey (HESES) and the Higher Education Business and Community Interaction (HE-BCI) survey.
  • Acting as the key point of contact for student data matters, liaising with University departments such as Admissions, Student Registry, and IT Services, as well as external regulatory bodies.
  • Leading on data quality assurance, compliance with University policies, and continuous process improvements.
  • Providing clear guidance and support to internal stakeholders on student data processes, training colleagues where necessary.
  • Managing a small team, ensuring a high standard of work and professional development within the unit.

About You

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Experience in student records management, preferably in a Higher Education setting.
  • A strong understanding of data governance, compliance, and regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Proven expertise in working with student records systems, ideally CamSIS or a similar database.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret and present complex data.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across teams and provide expert advice on data-related matters.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement, with experience in refining data processes and implementing system enhancements.

What We Offer

This role provides an opportunity to contribute to the strategic development of student data processes at ICE. Based at the historic Madingley Hall, you will work on-site for 40% of your contracted hours, with flexibility for remote working. The post is currently full-time but part time applications will be considered.
