About the role:

We are seeking ambitious and talented individuals who will advance cutting-edge research across the natural sciences (physics, chemistry, biology & maths) using AI and computational approaches to solve complex scientific problems and deliver inspirational teaching.

Successful candidates will play a key role in developing & executing internationally leading research and work collaboratively across King’s. You will have a strong research track record, demonstrating interdisciplinary engagement, and be ready to grow a research programme that attracts external funding. You will also be committed to educating scientists and researchers of the future through a range of interdisciplinary undergraduate & postgraduate degree programmes. 

We also wish to maximise the relevance of our work to society through high impact research through engagement with industry & public engagement that engages diverse audiences, especially in our local communities in London and beyond.

There are up to 2 positions available. These are full-time positions, and you will be offered an indefinite contract.

About you:

To be successful in this role, we are looking for candidates to have the following skills and experience:

Essential criteria

  • PhD qualified in relevant subject area
  • Scientific synergy with current research at King’s
  • Significant, established expertise in an area of interdisciplinary science research
  • Established and consistent record of attracting peer reviewed research grant funding or fellowships
  • Strong and consistent track record of leading multi-disciplinary teams and sharing & encouraging good practice
  • Outstanding independent track record of publication in peer reviewed journals of international stature
  • Significant experience in leadership in academic administration
  • Experience in supervising and developing research students and/or research staff
  • Member of prestigious academic and/or industrial advisory boards
  • Significant experience of undergraduate and/or post graduate teaching

Desirable criteria

  • Experience of industrial/commercial funding opportunities to underpin applied research
