Join Our Growing Computing Team at Roehampton University

Computing at the University of Roehampton is one of the fastest-growing disciplines, now supporting over 1,000 students since its launch in 2020. We are committed to delivering high-quality, industry-relevant education, exemplified by our undergraduate Cyber Security programme receiving provision certification from the National Cyber Security Centre (NCSC) – one of only thirteen institutions to achieve this. We are building a leading computing department focused on innovation, interdisciplinary teaching, and student success.

We are seeking passionate, student-focused academics to join our growing team as Lecturers or Senior Lecturers. In this role, you will shape the future of computing education through teaching excellence, student experience, industry engagement, and curriculum development. You will work in one of our core disciplines: Computer Science, Data Science, Cyber Security, or Software Engineering, delivering high-quality, hands-on learning experiences.

This is a fantastic opportunity for both early-career and experienced academics eager to make a tangible impact on student success, employability, and computing education. You will be part of a dynamic, supportive, and ambitious team that values collaboration, innovation, and personal growth.

ARE YOU:

  • An academic with a bold vision to deliver excellence and inspire students?
  • Passionate about teaching, learning, and the development of our growing computing portfolio?
  • Enthusiastic about student-centred pedagogy and project-based learning?
  • Experienced in innovative curriculum design, pedagogy, and high-quality teaching practice?
  • An expert in a relevant Computing discipline such as algorithms, machine learning, network security, software development, data analytics, or artificial intelligence?

IN THIS ROLE, YOU WILL:

  • Contribute to developing and delivering innovative programmes that provide students with real-world educational experiences, producing industry-ready graduates.
  • Play a key role in delivering engaging teaching across foundation, HTQ, undergraduate, postgraduate, and degree apprenticeship programmes.
  • Lead in education delivery, including programme leadership and interdisciplinary teaching.
  • Develop and maintain a record of research or professional practice with an international profile and high impact.
  • Enhance the teaching, learning, research, and knowledge exchange reputation of the school.
  • Build and maintain professional networks that enrich the student experience.
  • •Be part of a collegiate community of academics and professional practitioners.

Our vision for Computing is simple – to provide an outstanding educational experience through interdisciplinary lab-based teaching and learning, ensuring our graduates are equipped with the skills and knowledge to thrive in industry. We foster a collaborative and supportive environment where academic and professional excellence is encouraged and celebrated.

WHY CHOOSE ROEHAMPTON?

  • Work on our stunning 54-acre campus, with views over Richmond Park.
  • Access the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.
  • Benefit from our outstanding annual leave provision.
  • Benefit from our RKE Income Reward and Recognition Scheme.
  • Our full list of benefits is here

The closing date for completed applications is 14 March 2025.

Interviews are expected to take place during the weeks commencing 24 March and/or 31 March 2025.
