About the role

We are always interested in making sure that Library ebooks and subscriptions are supporting the needs of the University community, and this role is central to that aim. You’ll provide up-to-date and accurate information, support our ebook provision and delve into usage data.

You’ll be handling inquiries, offering expert advice, and developing strong relationships to inspire trust and collaboration. This is an opportunity to build expertise in content delivery while helping shape how users access and engage with library resources.

The Library, Culture & Heritage Division was established in 2024, consisting of the main Library, the Keep archive service (in partnership with East Sussex County Council and Brighton & Hove City Council) and the Attenborough Centre for the Creative Arts interdisciplinary arts hub.  The Division is currently planning its future strategy, making it an exciting time to join us.

About you

You have experience of using data to support effective decision making and are motivated to explore and experiment with solutions that make data gathering and reporting more efficient.  You are good at planning, have strong organisational skills and the ability to build relationships with your team and with Library users.

Ideally, you will have some experience working with library content and understand the role that a library plays within a university. You are looking for a new challenge, an opportunity to use data creatively to support service improvement and a supportive environment in which you can thrive.

About our Division

Founded in 1961, the University Library is an important research facility with exceptional services and internationally significant collections. Today the Library is far more than a building and a collection of printed material.  It plays a central role in the creation, publication, application and preservation of knowledge and research at our thriving University.

As a crucial partner in the University’s learning and research agendas, the Library constantly seeks ways to be as closely connected as possible to the changing nature of the work of Schools to contribute fully to the enrichment of the lives of their students and the advancement of their research.
