The Role: We are seeking a motivated and strategic Head of People to join our leadership team. Reporting directly to the Dean of CJBS and working closely with the University’s central HR division, the Head of People will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing our people strategy. This role is crucial in driving the culture of CJBS, ensuring we attract, retain, and develop top talent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the CJBS people strategy, aligning it with the School's overall strategic objectives. Provide strategic advice to the Dean and senior management on all people-related matters.
  • Foster a positive and inclusive culture that supports the School's mission. Lead initiatives to enhance employee engagement, well-being, and satisfaction.
  • Oversee the recruitment, development, and retention of staff and faculty. Implement effective leadership development and talent management programs.
  • Lead the School's response to crises, ensuring effective communication and management of change.
  • Manage the HR and Recruitment budgets, ensuring cost-effective delivery of services. Oversee the staff budget and workforce planning.
  • Champion diversity and inclusion across all aspects of the School's activities. Develop and implement strategies to promote an inclusive culture.
  • Lead internal communications, ensuring staff are informed and engaged. Chair staff meetings and manage all-staff communications.

Skills & Experience:

  • Experience: Proven track record in a senior leadership role within a complex organisation, preferably in the education sector. Experience in leading change and improving employee engagement.
  • Skills: Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Strong financial management and data analysis capabilities. Ability to build strong relationships with stakeholders.
  • Attributes: A compassionate, inclusive, and inspirational leader. Commitment to high standards, openness, and continuous improvement.
  • Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent. Chartered Member or Fellow of CIPD. Evidence of continuing professional development.
