The opportunity
We are looking to appoint a Lecturer in Interaction Design to join our MA Interaction Design course, based on the Interaction Design and Visual Communication program at London College of Communication.
You will prepare, teach and contribute to the development of a critical and self-reflective course along with other designers and artists working at the forefront of the field.
You will lead seminars as well as participate in one-to-one tutorials, advising students on how to evolve and articulate their critical practice. The role also involves coordinating with the course team on curricular development and communicating with other tutors to ensure clarity of next steps for students and the tutorial team. You will also make a significant contribution to pedagogic delivery, assessment, quality management and recruitment.
You will work under the direction of the Course Leader for MA Interaction Design to deliver the validated course as well as contribute to School, College and University initiatives, including research.
About you
You will possess a strong academic background having ideally attained a postgraduate degree or equivalent practice experience in any of the following fields of critical post-humanism, critical and/or research-based practice, moving image culture, decolonial studies, eco-feminism, queer studies or any other relevant or associated subjects.
You will demonstrate experience of teaching and assessment in a higher education environment and will be capable of supporting both the academic experience of students and providing pastoral care and attention.
You will be a collaborative team worker who is capable of planning, prioritising and managing resources efficiently to achieve objectives. Additionally, you will be able to provide evidence of research, knowledge exchange or critical practice that presents a new interpretation of the role.
