About the role:
An exciting opportunity has become available to work on a project funded by InnovateUK in support of the Biofilm Alliance, a network for regulatory sciences, academic research, and industry collaboration. The post-holder will seek to develop biofilm methods and tools for regulatory decision making, which will include writing documents for publication to different audiences. The post-holder will also help with the operation of the Biofilm Alliance, including organising and delivering workshop. The post is a fixed term expected to commence April 2025 and end 31st December 2025.

About you:

Qualifications we require:

• A doctoral level qualification (or significant industrial experience) in microbiology and evidence of continuous professional development.
• Undergraduate degree in Biology, Microbiology, Biotechnology or a closely related subject.

Application requirements:
Essential experience and knowledge are required in the following:

• Significant experience of standard procedures in bacteriology and biofilm.
• Significant experience with biofilm method development.

It would also be desirable to have experience of or understanding of regulatory science with respect to biofilm, and of biofilm method development that has led to publication.

Personal attributes:

• Ability to collect, organise and synthesise complex data from different sources.
• Communication of findings succinctly via oral presentations and written reports and articles.
• Be pro-active, motivated, resourceful and able to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
• Able to effectively manage time whilst keeping to a schedule of work and be organised in documenting progress throughout the project.
