1.0 FTE Flexible start date
Applications are invited for the post of Preparation Area Technician in the School of Life Sciences. The individual should have flexibility and willingness to provide cover to both Departments as this is part of a wider team whose services span across both the School of Life Sciences and Warwick Medical School. This role requires full-time cover to ensure continuity and consistency in operations across the week. The role provides the teaching and research activities with clean and sterile consumables. Duties will involve collecting waste for autoclaving and disposal, washing and sterilising glassware for re-use and providing some commonly used consumables within laboratories.
You will have NVQ Level 1 or 2 or educated to GCSE level or equivalent, or experience in a similar or related role. You must have an understanding of what is involved in excellent customer service provision and be able to multi-task, as many operations and processes are carried out simultaneously. Some experience of a laboratory environment and knowledge of the sterilisation process would be desirable.
Full on job training will be provided.
We and the wider University of Warwick environment offer substantial opportunities for professional development including regular opportunities to attend international conferences.
