We are seeking an applicant for a fully-funded ERC Research Assistant position with funding to undertake PhD in probability theory led by Professors Jason Miller and Wendelin Werner in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
This position is advertised in connection with Professor Jason Miller's ERC Consolidator on 'Analysis in Random Planar Fractals', which is focused on random planar geometry and related areas of mathematics. A specific project will be determined in consultation with the PI, considering the skills and interests of the successful applicant.
Duties include undertaking your own program of research and assisting with ongoing research programmes; writing up results for publication; and presenting your work to colleagues at conferences or seminars, both internally and externally. You may also be asked to assist in organizing various seminars and study groups. During the period of funding for this role, you will be eligible to complete your PhD studies.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in mathematics by the start date of the position, and should have relevant background knowledge in probability theory.
