An exciting opportunity has risen for a Research Programme Manager, to lead the operations and governance of the Cardiovascular Epidemiology Unit's (CEU) research projects, programmes and initiatives. Two significant projects include the NIHR Donor Health and Behaviour project (£4million) and the BRC Data Science and Population Health theme (£4million).

The CEU, directed by Professor John Danesh, is an internationally recognised interdisciplinary group for the study of the causes and prevention of cardiovascular disease. It is part of the Department of Public Health and Primary Care (DPHPC), one of Europe's leading academic departments of population health sciences.

CEU is highly distinctive for conducting large-scale, collaborative research projects. In the last five years, we have secured >£50million in funding from more than 80 grants and have published over 400 publications.

As Research Programme Manager you will:

  • Provide leadership and strategic support and planning for CEU's research portfolio
  • Support and assist senior scientists delivering projects and programmes - an overall grant portfolio of about £9million - including reporting, monitoring and evaluation
  • Coordinate meetings and committees
  • Lead on impact evaluation
  • Liaise with contracts managers to ensure setup of collaborative agreements and other contractual requirements
  • Coordinate data access requests
  • Lead working groups on various initiatives within CEU

Reporting to the Strategic Operations Lead of CEU, you will work closely with the CEU senior scientists.

The postholder will have a higher research degree or equivalent research experience as well as knowledge and experience of managing research projects. They will have exceptional organizational and communication skills, and the ability to manage projects to the highest standards.

This is a full-time post and the funding is available until 30 November 2027 in the first instance.
