The Estates department is looking for a motivated and experienced Domestic Services Team Leader to join our team. In this role, you will work with our dedicated in-house cleaning team ensuring academic spaces, student accommodation, and offices are maintained to the highest standards. You will oversee the daily operations of the team, ensuring excellent quality control and supporting university events and initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, supervise, and motivate a team of Domestic Service staff.
  • Monitor the quality of work to ensure compliance with university standards and procedures.
  • Allocate and manage workloads effectively
  • Provide ongoing training and development to team members, ensuring they have the necessary skills to carry out their role.
  • Ensure cleaning tasks are completed within specified timeframes.
  • Support the Domestic Services Manager to conduct regular team meetings to discuss performance, resolve issues, and implement improvements.
  • Maintain accurate records of staff attendance, performance, and incidents.
  • Ensure that the Domestic Services team are working safely.

About You:

We are seeking a motivated individual with:

  • A flexible approach to working hours, with the ability to adapt to shift changes to accommodate university events.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a focus on delivering exceptional customer service.
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • An understanding of health and safety regulations or a willingness to learn
  • A valid UK driving licence (ideally).
  • A positive "can-do" attitude, with a passion for teamwork and service excellence.
