We are looking for an experienced and dedicated Systematic Reviewer to join our talented team at Kleijnen Systematic Reviews Ltd (KSR). In this role, you will play a key part in producing and disseminating high-quality systematic reviews (SRs), meta-analyses, cost effectiveness analyses (CEAs) and health technology assessments (HTAs) that help to shape evidence-based healthcare decision-making. You’ll work on projects with key commissioners to assess the effectiveness of healthcare interventions and contribute to improving health outcomes.

As part of our multi-disciplinary team, your role will involve preparing and delivering high-quality SRs and HTAs to an exemplary standard to support evidence-based healthcare decision-making.

The Role & Responsibilities

Key responsibilities include the following:

  • Systematic Review Process: Collaboratively contributing to and implementing all stages of the SR process, including proposal and protocol development, screening of relevant studies, data extraction, statistical analyses, and report writing
  • Dossiers: Preparing and critiquing dossiers used for HTAs, e.g., for commissioners such as NICE
  • Critical Appraisals: Preparing, checking or auditing critical appraisals
  • Proposal Development: As part of a team, developing proposals for funding potential projects
  • Building Relationships: Where relevant, communication with commissioners, ensuring excellent relationships to identify potential business opportunities
  • Dissemination: Involvement in the dissemination activities including preparing journal articles and representing KSR at conferences and meetings
  • Stay Current: Attending seminars, training courses and other external events to keep in touch with particular disciplinary interests
  • Development: Contributing to the development of best practice and standards such as the development of training resources.

Ideal Candidate

  • Strong work ethic and team orientation, with a passion for healthcare research
  • Significant experience in the design, conduct and reporting of SRs, and a working knowledge of relevant statistical methods, i.e., meta-analysis and meta-regression analysis
  • Background in health services research, i.e., statistics, medicine, public health, clinical epidemiology, economics, biochemistry, or psychology
  • Proven experience in the successful delivery of multiple projects, i.e., ability to work under pressure, prioritise tasks, and meet specific time frames
  • Highly autonomous as well as a motivated team player
  • Ability to critically think, analyse and make balanced decisions with an eye for detail and quality.

Here’s a summary of the benefits package for the role:

  • Competitive salary and 5% annual salary increment (+ £1.625k on a £32.5k salary)

Work-Life Balance & Flexible Working: We are keen to support family-friendly, flexible working arrangements to support a healthy work-life balance. The role is offered as full or part-time (60% fte). This position is a hybrid, office-based role with an expectation to attend the office a minimum of 3 days per week (100% fte).
