Enterprise and Innovation Administrator
The Masood Entrepreneurship Centre (MEC) is the focal point for enterprise and entrepreneurship programmes for students, recent graduates and staff delivered across the University through on-curricular teaching and co-curricular activities. The core mission of MEC is to deliver “Entrepreneurship for All” – to make entrepreneurship education accessible to all, across all subjects and at all levels, to develop entrepreneurial capacities and mind-sets in our students, staff and recent graduates. Established in 2000, the Centre is one of the UK's leaders in the area of practitioner-based, applied enterprise education. Building upon our sustained track-record of growth and innovation, we have ambitious plans and aspirations for the future – to make entrepreneurship work for every student regardless of discipline, profession or career trajectory.
Post holder responsibilities:
To provide support for the MEC Researcher Development programmes as part of the MEC mission to build on the University’s drive to support researchers to address the innovation and commercialisation potential and impact of their research.
A key focus will be supporting the scaling of our signature programmes for postgraduate researchers (PGRs) and PhD students, postdoctoral researchers and early career researchers (ECRs) for them to contribute to positive change through our training, education programmes and support aimed at transforming and developing entrepreneurial mind-sets, commercialising research, and building ventures, startups and social enterprises.
The role will support aspects of planning, coordination, delivery, monitoring, evaluation and review of MEC Researcher Development programmes. The post holder will be expected to actively engage with colleagues across the University involved in training and development for PGRs and ECRs within Faculties, Schools, Researcher Development Centres and Careers, as part of supporting more researcher-entrepreneurs and informing a MEC priority to increase the number of startups.
