We are seeking an applicant for a fully-funded ERC Research Assistant position with the opportunity to undertake PhD studies in analytic number theory and higher-order Fourier analysis led by Dr Joni Teräväinen in the Department of Pure Mathematics and Mathematical Statistics.
This position is advertised in connection with the PI's ERC Starting Grant on 'Analytic number theory and higher order Fourier analysis'. A specific project will be determined in consultation with the PI, considering the skills and interests of the successful applicant.
Duties include undertaking your own program of research and assisting with ongoing research programmes; writing up results for publication; and presenting your work to colleagues at conferences or seminars, both internally and externally. You may also be asked to assist in organizing various seminars and study groups. During the period of funding for this role, you will be eligible to complete your PhD studies.
The successful candidate will have a Master's degree in mathematics, statistics or closely related discipline by the start date of the position, and should have relevant background knowledge in analytic number theory.
