Our department
The Department of Chemical and Process Engineering at the University of Strathclyde is one of the largest chemical engineering departments in the country; we are the top-ranked department in Scotland for Chemical Engineering (The Times/ Sunday Times Good University Guide 2024) with a friendly, diverse and collaborative teaching and research culture. We focus on developing students’ skills and knowledge of sector relevant topics, equipping our graduates to face the next generation of engineering challenges. Our courses are accredited by the Institution of Chemical Engineers.
Our main research clusters are Sustainability, Electrochemical Engineering & Catalysis, Particle Engineering, Adsorption & Porous Materials, and Pedagogy. We work with external partners to address societal challenges, fostering links with ScotChem, Strathclyde’s research centres (https://www.strath.ac.uk/research/) and professional bodies. We wish to recruit an enthusiastic colleague whose research interests will complement and enhance our research portfolio, aligning with one of our strategic cluster themes.
The opportunity
We would love to hear from you if you have a good honours degree and PhD (or equivalent professional experience) in chemical engineering (or another appropriate discipline), experience of working and teaching within a HE institution, and a record of accomplishment of delivering high quality teaching and contributing to academic administration.
