About the Role
You will play a vital role in supporting the delivery of a cross-cultural reciprocal mentoring scheme, a one-year programme designed to foster collaboration and mutual learning between participants from the University of Sussex and the University of Ghana. Based within the Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion Unit, you will work closely with the project leaders and be a key point of contact for participants, ensuring the smooth day-to-day running of the scheme.
In this role, you will support mentees, coordinate meetings and events, manage project resources, and support effective communication across both institutions. You’ll also contribute to evaluating the programme’s impact through data collection, feedback analysis, and supporting the development of outputs such as toolkits or publications. This role offers an exciting opportunity to be part of a small, dedicated team, where your organisational skills and proactive approach will directly contribute to promoting equity, inclusion, and meaningful collaboration.
About You
Ideally, you will have experience in administrative roles or project coordination, with strong organisational skills and an eye for detail. You will be confident managing your own workload, prioritising tasks, and meeting deadlines, while also being flexible enough to support colleagues when needed. Your excellent communication skills will enable you to engage effectively with participants, colleagues, and stakeholders across both the University of Sussex and the University of Ghana.
You will be comfortable using tools such as spreadsheets and data systems to track programme information and support project monitoring. Experience in organising meetings or events, handling logistics, or supporting recruitment processes would be an advantage, though not essential. Most importantly, you will bring a proactive, inclusive approach that aligns with the programme’s commitment to fostering collaboration across diverse groups. This role would suit someone who is adaptable, enjoys working as part of a team, and is passionate about supporting equity and inclusion initiatives.
