The Faculty of English Language and Literature, seeks to appoint a Departmental Lecturer in American Literature to cover the Faculty teaching of Professor Lloyd Pratt while he is on research leave funded by the Leverhulme Trust.

About the Role
A 3-year fixed-term teaching and research appointment in American literature is available for an outstanding academic at an early stage of their career. We especially encourage applications from candidates working in Asian American literature, Latinx literature, Native American and Indigenous literatures, and/or poetry. The appointee will be expected to play a key role in the delivery of the Faculty’s MSt in English and American Studies and of undergraduate teaching in American literature. They will also be involved in the American Literature Research Seminar series and other American literature events held in the Faculty and the Rothermere American Institute.
About You
You will hold a doctorate in American literature, with a strong research and publication record appropriate to your career stage. You will have experience of undergraduate lecturing in American literature, and will possess sufficient specialist knowledge to supervise independent research projects. You will have the ability to manage your own research and administrative activities, and will be an excellent communicator.
