The flagship York School of Architecture is one of the University of York’s exciting transformational initiatives. The school’s expertise is interdisciplinary, building on York’s existing research strengths in culture, community, environment, geography, heritage, and social policy to create a school that supports our commitment to public good. We seek to appoint an Associate lecturer to take a role in the development of the academic curriculum .
The successful applicant should have teaching experience and a demonstrable record of working in a team. For this role, architectural practice experience will be particularly valued and there is potential for a practicing architect to continue in practice on a fractional role.
We recognise the many benefits of a diverse workforce and are committed to ensuring an inclusive place to work. We particularly encourage applications from those who identify as Black, Asian or from a Minority Ethnic background, who are underrepresented at the University. We offer family friendly, flexible working arrangements (e.g. part-time working, job share etc.), with forums and inclusive facilities to support our staff. You will be joining an exciting new school with a clear intention to deliver a curriculum that is informed by sustainable and culturally aware architecture to a new generation of architects, that responds to the rich cultural context of the city of York and the University.
