The Role

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Communications Officer who will help us to achieve our aim of stewarding our generous donors via regular touchpoints, including magazines, e-newsletters and social media.

You will play a crucial role in supporting our Regular Giving team in fundraising campaigns throughout the year by producing a range of engaging content, such as (but not limited to) magazine interviews, videos and online articles.

The Communications team, and the wider Campaign and Alumni Relations Office (CARO), strives to foster a welcoming, inspiring and supportive workplace.  We have a diverse university community who come from a mix of cultures and backgrounds, and we aspire to reflect that within CARO. We know that having colleagues from a wide range of cultures and backgrounds, with a mix of opinions and lived experiences, enhances our day-to-day work and enriches our team and we welcome applications from everyone.

Reporting to the Communications Manager – Fundraising & Donor Retention, you will help in the delivery of high-quality, engaging content describing the impact of donations to our existing supporters, across print and digital publications.

You will bring:

  • Experience of researching and producing well-written content, ideally for print and digital publications
  • Great interpersonal and relationship-building abilities
  • A keen eye for detail
  • Good time management to deliver a range of exciting and varied projects

The post is offered on a 12-month fixed term contract, full-time (36.25 hours per week), blending time in shared workspaces across our award-winning Nottingham campuses, with remote working.

What we offer

A collaborative and inclusive workplace committed to equality and diversity.

A hybrid working arrangement with the blended approach of home and office working each week.

Generous holiday entitlement of 27 days (or pro rata) plus standard bank holidays and five university closure days, including closure between Christmas and New Year.

We are committed to staff development through the provision of training, continued support, and career progression opportunities.

As a university employee, you will have an excellent choice of benefits and rewards, including access to fitness and health facilities, staff discount and travel schemes, and a highly attractive pension scheme.
