Background
We are looking for an exceptional person to take on the role of Research Impact Manager who will be responsible for developing and embedding impact activities across the university and will help to maximise researcher engagement with external audiences both non-academics and users of the research. They will develop impact case studies for external audiences including the Research Excellence Framework (REF). Becoming the focal point for impact within the university the Research Impact Manager will work closely with other teams who provide advice and assistance to academics on how they should engage in a wide range of interactions with a broad range of partners.
Responsibilities
The Research Impact Manager will provide leadership, strategic advice and support to a wide range of stakeholders in respect of impact, seeking out impact stories and communicating them across a wide variety of outlets. They will need to be able to grasp complex information and present it in a digestible form. They will demonstrate the contribution of the University to society, the economy and the wellbeing agenda.
Person Specification
Applicants should have exceptional interpersonal and communication skills and be able to work effectively with staff at all levels. The ability to author and edit clear and persuasive documents is essential. The role-holder will be educated to degree-level or higher and will ideally have experience of working within a Higher Education Institution.
