Professor/Associate Professor on Tenure Terms or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in Creative Industries

Applications are invited from scholars whose research and training is in any discipline in the arts and humanities, with expertise in the creative industries for appointment as Professor/Associate Professor on Tenure Terms or Tenure-Track Assistant Professor in the Faculty of Arts (Ref.: 531061), to commence on September 1, 2025 or as soon as possible thereafter. Appointment as Assistant Professor will be made on a three-year fixed-term basis, with the possibility of renewal and consideration for tenure before the expiry of a second three-year fixed-term contract.

Applicants should hold a Ph.D. degree in any Arts discipline and have relevant experience, qualifications, and an active research agenda on the creative industries. He/She is expected to have a strong record of publication and potential for continued distinction in research and teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels. The successful candidate may be trained in any humanities discipline(s) and will contribute to the development of an interdisciplinary global creative industries undergraduate programme. Those with the ability to deliver taught course content focusing on the business, politics and policies, regulations, production, distribution and reception of the creative industries, and with research expertise in the gaming industry and / or gaming studies are particularly encouraged to apply. Successful candidates will be expected to teach courses related to the creative industries.

A highly competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience will be offered, together with contract-end gratuity and University contribution to a retirement benefits scheme at 15% of basic salary for fixed-term appointment. Other benefits include annual leave and professional leave, medical benefits, and free access to on-campus gyms and libraries. Housing benefits will be provided as applicable.
