Senior Lecturer in Clinical Physiology

UWE Bristol’s School of Applied Sciences is one of the largest education centres for healthcare science in the UK.

Three BSc (Hons) Healthcare Science Practitioner degree apprenticeship programmes are offered, including Physiological Sciences, Clinical Engineering and Medical Physics Technology. We further deliver three commissioned programmes: a PGCert in Clinical Echocardiography, a PGCert in Sleep Medicine and a Graduate Diploma in Respiratory Science.

We have an opening for a Senior Lecturer in Clinical Physiology to join our established Healthcare Science Practitioner (Physiological Sciences) degree-apprenticeship programme. The role will focus on delivering excellence in teaching and academic support. Ideally, you’ll have significant clinical experience in either cardiac physiology, respiratory physiology, or neurophysiology. Experience of work-based/apprenticeship training in healthcare science would be an advantage.

You’ll have a PhD in a subject relevant to this post, or have a relevant master’s qualification with significant professional practice. You have significant clinical experience in either cardiac physiology, respiratory physiology, or neurophysiology. You can demonstrate experience of devising and delivering teaching related to clinical physiology. Experience of work-based/apprenticeship training in healthcare science would be an advantage.

You can further demonstrate how you keep abreast of latest developments in this subject area and external best practice benchmarks.

You’ll be supported in this role by an experienced senior lecturer as a mentor and we provide staff development funds to support personal and subject related training for academic staff.

This is a fixed-term, part time role for 18 months or the earlier return of the substantive post holder, working on a 0.4FTE contract.

This role is campus based for all of your time with the opportunity to work from home with prior agreement of your manager.
