About the Role
We are seeking an IT Manager to join our IT team to help with the smooth running of computing services and infrastructure in support of the department’s teaching and research activities.
As a senior IT team member, you will be expected to organise your own time appropriately to effectively provide day-to-day support, as well as progress longer term projects to meet deadlines and maintain agreed service levels. You must understand departmental IT strategy and policy and will be expected to proactively contribute to the creation and evolution of them.

About You
You will be equipped with relevant experience in supporting desktop operating systems and hardware, and in implementing, managing and monitoring network and computer security. Experience of IT strategy planning, budgeting and management is also essential.
You will have expert knowledge in the management of Windows Server and Active Directory, and physical and virtual servers hosted on VMware, as well as TCP/IP networking and addressing, Wi-Fi including access point configuration and deployment, management and configuration of networks including switches, cabling, Network Access Control and VLANs.
Able to work independently and prioritise a varied workload, you will have excellent attention to detail, communication and leadership skills.
