An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Departmental Administrator to join the Department of Physiology, Development & Neuroscience. The Department is a large, complex and welcoming Department with an exceptional record in teaching and research. This senior post is integral to the Department, with overall responsibility for the professional services team in all operational areas. The successful candidate will advise the joint Heads of Department and other senior academic staff on strategy, planning and policy issues. The role also involves the opportunity to contribute to School-wide projects and close collaboration with the other Departments in the School of Biological Sciences.
We are looking for an experienced administrator who has experience of managing people and budgets, as well as the ability to operate at a strategic level. The successful candidate will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships at all levels.
The role holder will be educated to degree level (or have equivalent experience). They will have experience in management and administration in a complex organisation and the ability to lead teams and problem solve.
